Where can I download the app?
The App is available from the Apple app store or Google Play store. See the links below:
Register for Cairde
This requires your name, address, phone number. An Email address and Eircode are also desirable.
BeAlert Customers
If you are a BeAlert customer you can simply download the app and it will work straight away once you are a member of your local BeAlert Community Alert group. Text alert groups who are customers of another provider will have to contact us using the form provided below and we will contact you immediately to get you and up and running using the Cairde service.

How can I tell my group about it?
Committee members wishing to tell their group about Cairde should send a text message including a link to the website. If you need help doing this click the link below:

If committee members require more information or help we will be happy to meet with them or their group. To arrange a meeting simply contact us using the form provided below.
How does it work?
Add your Cairde
These are the people you want to respond to your panic alert. You should select at least 5 people who live close by, this is the only way to ensure a swift safe response to your panic alert.
You must invite people to be your Cairde. If they accept they are added to your list of Cairde. If they decline they are not added to your Cairde list.
To add Cairde tap MY CAIRDE then tap ADD CAIRDE. You can select people from your contact list or the Cairde members in your community shown on the map. Whoever you select will be sent a message to invite them to become one of your Cairde.
Navigating the Home page
There are 5 menus on the home page:
Settings
Tap the SETTINGS wheel to change your profile, or Garda phone number. Tap CHECK OUT if you do not want to be alerted even in the event of an emergency. Get information about Cairde and a link to get in touch with us.
Filter
Tap the FILTER option to filter what messages you want to see.
Alerts
Tap here to see alerts or to send an alert. To send an alert tap CREATE ALERTS then select what kind of message you wish to send. Type your message and tap SEND.
To use the Panic Button tap CREATE ALERT next tap EMERGENCY next tap the PANIC BUTTON. This will alert your Cairde. You will be asked if you wish to call the Gardaí, tap YES and you will be immediately connected to 999. You can change this in settings to your local Garda 24 hour emergency number.
To see a list of all your Garda text alert messages simply open the App and tap ALERTS.
My Cairde
Tap here to see your Cairde. To see who you asked to be your Cairde or who has asked you to be their Cairde tap INVITATIONS. To add Cairde tap ADD CAIRDE and follow the instructions above.
Community
Tap here to see all your community messages. Tap here also to send a message to your community or to a selected Cairde. To send a message tap CREATE ALERT or CREATE MESSAGE then select what kind of message you wish to send. Type your message and tap SEND.

In response to the huge interest from our members Muintir Na Tíre is delighted to announce a new group pricing structure for the Cairde App.
This allows groups a simple and transparent way to pay for the service, provide the Cairde app to as many of their members as possible and minimise their costs.
